Day 4 - An interview with Stephanie Cohen-Aloro - Wednesday, May 30, 2007
Q. You're playing two games in two days. Was it difficult for you? STEPHANIE COHEN‑ALORO: Well, the first game, the first match was a bit difficult. It's also true it was not always easy to play two matches in two days. But it all started very well, and I won very fast. So it was fine, because five minutes later it was raining, so I was quite happy.
Q. Now, with regards to your feelings, can you tell us more? It's the first time that you reached the third round in a Grand Slam tournament, so it's good for you, but as for the rest of the tournament? STEPHANIE COHEN‑ALORO: Well, I feel fit, and just having fun. I feel confident. I play well. I want to see things match after match, and we'll see how things go.
Q. You feel that this wildcard was worth getting. So is it important for you to show what you can do and make people realize that there is not just five or six girls in French tennis? STEPHANIE COHEN‑ALORO: Well, I was already very happy to get this wildcard, so I want to thank the management of this tournament to give me the opportunity of playing in this tournament. That was very positive for me. For the media, well, to be honest, I have not much trust because I don't have that many interviews. And the stress is more to the fact that I want to do things, to play well because I'm playing at home, so to speak. I also know if I play well, I can improve my ranking. So the only pressure I have, or the only stress is to make the most out of this opportunity.
Q. A few words about Garbin, your future opponent? STEPHANIE COHEN‑ALORO: Well, first of all, I did not know I would have to play Garbin. I've played her twice. I think she's always won so far. She's a good player. She plays very well, and now I need to play my tennis and I need to have fun, to enjoy it, to feel very relaxed. And if I manage to play my tennis, then I have ‑‑ there is a possibility for me to win it.
Q. What more do you need not to have to use wildcards? STEPHANIE COHEN‑ALORO: Well, I need to be more confident. I need to be more regular, play the same level of tennis, week after week. I'm very happy because this will allow me to reach the top 100, which is something that I have not experienced in a while. So that is very positive for me as well. |
