1
For the first time in the Open era, a Grand Slam tournament saw the same winner in the women's (Justine Henin) and the men's singles (Rafael Nadal) three years in a row.

1
It was also the first time in the Open era that the same two number one seeds made it to the final two years in a row at The French.

9
Rafael Nadal is ninth in the all-time list for the number of titles he has won on clay (17). He is equal with Andres Gomez on that figure, but still a long way short of Guillermo Vilas, who won 43 clay court titles. Rafa is only 21 years-old though…

10
Roger Federer has still won 10 Grand Slam titles in 32 attempts. He is 4 short of Phil Sampras’ all-time record of 14 majors.

11
Rafael Nadal’s win makes it 11 French Open titles for Spain, equalling the number of titles won by men from Australia and the United States.

13
Rafael Nadal has made 4 Grand Slam finals in 13 appearances, equalling the mark set by Jimmy Connors and Mats Wilander, but not as good as John McEnroe who made 4 finals in 12 Grand Slams!

17
